EU Regulation No. 1286/2014 - PRIIPS

From 1 January 2018, EU Regulation No. 1286/2014 will be in force.

"Packaged Retail and Insurance-based Investment Products".

Short form: PRIIP.

This regulation aims to improve investor protection. This is intended to strengthen the confidence of retail investors in the financial market. Required are uniform basic information sheets, which provide the necessary information on a financial product in order to make a sound investment decision and to compare the PRIIPs better than before. Short form: KID

The PRIIPs essentially include structured financial products that are not natural exchange products, e.g. Warrants, certificates or contracts for difference.

KIDs contain essential basic information about the type and character, risks, opportunities and costs of the financial product.
